Our Mission and Values

Core Values

Mission

Revise as follows: Life is a journey meant to be shared.  Grace Anglican Community exists to walk with people as they travel along The Way (i.e., the Christian faith, Acts 24:14).

Children and Youth
Childhood adolescence is the time in life when we are most receptive to the Christian faith. As a church dedicated to helping people on their spiritual journey, we will partner with parents to give children and adolescents the most important gift anyone can receive: faith in Jesus Christ.

Community
God created us as relational beings. When God calls us into relationship with himself, he simultaneously calls us into relationship with other believers. The closest analogy for this bond is family (Mark 3:31-34). We will provide an environment in which people can live into Jesus’ vision of Christian family.

Gospel of Jesus Christ
The word gospel means good news. It is good news that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world and that whoever believes in him can have eternal life. Times and trends come and go. The gospel of Jesus Christ is forever.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the person of God who is actively at work in the world today. He is responsible for giving new birth, sanctification and power for ministry. We actively seek the ministry of the Holy Spirit in all we do.

Hospitality
Christian hospitality is the practice of welcoming strangers and helping them become part of the family of God. We will work diligently to help transform outsiders to insiders as they visit our church.

Scripture
The Bible is the inspired, living Word of God. It is authoritative in all matters of faith.

Servanthood
Christians are called to follow the example of Jesus “who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant…” (Philippians 2:6-7). We will seek to become people with the mind and heart of a servant.

Stewardship
Stewardship is about management. God has given each person one life and has provided, in scripture, the way we should live that life. Stewardship, therefore, is managing our life God’s way.

Worship
Worship is the dominant activity of heaven. Yet, we are privileged to enjoy it today.  Through praise and worship, we can be ushered into the presence of God (Psalm 100). We will be a worshipping people.
